Community Resource Fair: This Friday (11/23/2024) https://www.facebook.com/share/19iLHzKRE9/

ESCANABA — Homelessness is on the rise in the Upper Peninsula, with a reported 18% increase in cases from 2022 to 2023, according to the Michigan Campaign to End Homelessness (MCTEH).

Community Action in Escanaba is central to addressing homelessness, offering resources like rapid rehousing, temporary motel stays, and minor expense coverage for IDs or Social Security cards.

Homeless Program Manager Matalyn Thibeault and Outreach Worker Kim Strom encourage those in need to call their hotline for help.

Community Action will also host a Community Resource Fair on Friday at Bay College to connect people to vital services and raise awareness about poverty and homelessness.

For assistance, call the hotline at (906) 789-0545.
