MDSCAA's Adult Day Services are "geared to meet the needs of those with Alzheimer's and other dementias." They provide socialization, activities, and staff trained for these populations. ADS is based out of the Escanaba Senior Center.
Service Features
ADS employs a fully trained, patient caring and loving staff who strive to enhance the abilities of the Alzheimer's participant and encourages their independence in activities. We offer an opportunity for positive interaction and socialization for all participants.

Activities include:
Singing, reminiscence therapy, art projects, exercise, holiday/birthday celebrations, puzzle/word searches, outings into the community (Bonifas Art Center, Museums, Library, Pocket Park) as well as having guest speakers and musicians on occasion.
The target population is older adults with dementia or Alzheimer's that need a supervised social environment rather than full nursing care. This service is easily referenced as a resource for structured daytime social care and respite for caregivers.

The main requirement for participation is having a diagnosis of a dementia. The participant also needs to be able to feed themself and toilet them self (limited assistance can be offered). If the participant receives medication during their stay, the participant needs to be able to take the medication on their own. Participants must not exhibit behaviors which could seriously injure themselves or others. The participant must live with a caregiver and be able to participate in the program, a well as be able to move around safely.
