What to know

RSVP is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people aged 55 or older. The program offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers while matching personal interests and skills with opportunities to serve their communities. RSVP volunteers choose how, where and how many hours they want to serve.

In our area, RSVP has approximately 200 volunteers! Last year they provided services at 31 different sites across the tri-county area!

Focus Areas:

  • Disaster Services - Provide critical disaster assistance working at shelters and blood banks.

  • Economic Opportunity - Addresses unmet needs of economically disadvantaged individuals, including financial literacy, affordable housing and employment-related assistance.

  • Education - Make a difference for local youth by assisting in classrooms or becoming a mentor to achieve success in school.

  • Environmental Stewardship - Preserve natural beauty serving in national and local parks and revitalizing important waterways.

The program increases positive experiences and reading opportunities for children. At the same time, the program offers the opportunity for RSVP volunteers to work together, meet people from the community and help students.
