Senior Services
Senior Services is a comprehensive program that addresses the diverse needs of senior citizens. The program oversees Senior Centers throughout Menominee, Delta, and Schoolcraft counties, along with food distribution and nutrition services, in-home care, adult day services, and senior transportation services in Menominee County.
Our Areas of Focus
Senior Centers
Senior Centers serve as focal points, providing a wide range of activities and services for the 60+ population. Those can include congregate meals, games, dancing, exercise and informational presentations. MDSCAA oversees 6 centers across Delta and Menominee counties.
In-Home Services
In-Home Services includes homemaker aide serices (light housekeeping), respite care (provides companionship and supervision in relief of the primary caregiver) and personal care (assistance with activities of daily living).
Senior Services currently only provides Transportation Services in Menominee County.
Senior Food Distribution and Nutrition
Senior Nutrition oversees Congregate Meals and Home-Delivered Meals as well as food distribution through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).
Adult Day Services
Adult Day Services (located at the Escanaba Senior Center) is geared to meet the needs of those with Alzheimer's and other dementias through socialization and activities.
