Volunteer Opportunities

MDSCAA has 3 programs that are always on the lookout for volunteers:

Retired Senior Volunteer Program

Foster Grandparent Program

Senior Companion Program

Please click the links below to learn more about these programs or to fill out an application for the program of your choice.

Foster Grandparents enter schools and read to children, sometimes helping teachers as well. Available if you are 55 years old or older, are able to pass a background check, are willing to volunteer 15-40 hours a week and want to share your experience and compassion.

Senior Companions provide comfort to the elderly and frail. You must be 55+ years of age and pass a background check. Volunteers work a minimum of 20 hours a week and receive a stipend and mileage reimbursement.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 and over. The program offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. Anyone interested must pass a background check and attend an orientation.
