Since 1992, the Community Action Agency's Walk for Warmth has raised funds to help residents of Delta, Menominee, and Schoolcraft counties facing a heating emergency. The 2023 fundraisers raised $53,490.11, with every dollar donated being used in the county in which it was raised.

In Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where winter temperatures regularly drop below zero, home heating isn't a luxury—it's a necessity for survival. Many families in our community face the difficult choice between paying their heating bills and affording other essentials like food or medicine. Walk for Warmth helps ensures that no neighbor has to face a cold home during our harsh winters.

Each year, community members come together for a 2-mile walk to raise awareness and funds for those experiencing heating emergencies. Participants gather pledges from friends, family, and local businesses, with 100% of donations staying in the county from which it was collected.

Since its founding in 1992, Walk for Warmth has helped hundreds of families keep their homes warm during crisis situations. Whether it's preventing a utility shutoff, repairing a broken furnace, or delivering emergency fuel, these funds provide immediate assistance to our most vulnerable residents—seniors, families with young children, and individuals facing unexpected financial hardships.

Join us in making a difference. Whether you walk, volunteer, or donate, your participation helps ensure every member of our community can stay warm and safe through winter.
