Food Distribution

TEFAP
Throughout the year, the Nutrition Program provides food distribution through the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Eligibility for the programs is based on household income. These programs are food-supplement oriented and can be used by anyone, regardless of age.
Distribution is through open pantries: MDSCAA operates three open TEFAP pantries (Escanaba Senior Center, Hermansville Senior Center, and Gladstone Senior Center, Rapid River Omni Center) and works with Feeding America West Michigan mobile pantries. MDSCAA also runs a separate, private pantry through the Hermansville Pantry for those in that area.
