Staying strong doesn't have to mean standing up. The Northern Lights YMCA's Sit and Get Fit Senior Strength Training class is a chair-based fitness program designed specifically for older adults who want to build muscle, improve balance, and maintain independence — all from the comfort and safety of a seated position.

Whether you're new to exercise, returning after an injury, or simply looking for a low-impact way to stay active, this class offers a welcoming, supportive environment. Guided by a certified instructor, participants work through upper and lower body strengthening exercises using light resistance, gentle movement, and controlled breathing — all adapted to individual ability levels.

Regular participation can help reduce fall risk, ease joint discomfort, boost energy, and improve overall quality of life. No prior fitness experience is required — just a willingness to move.
