Walk for Warmth Events Announcement
Since 1992, the Community Action Agency's Walk for Warmth has helped Delta, Menominee, and Schoolcraft County residents facing a heating emergency. In a place where winter temperatures regularly dip below zero, staying warm is a necessity, and no family should have to choose between heating their home and buying food or medicine.
After a hiatus, the donation-appreciated walk is back for the 2026-2027 winter season, with an event in each of our three counties. Every dollar raised in a county stays in that county, helping low-income families with heat, electric, and other hardships. Over the years, those funds have prevented utility shutoffs, repaired broken furnaces, and delivered emergency fuel to seniors, families with young children, and neighbors facing unexpected financial hardship.
Each walk is one mile, takes about 25 to 30 minutes, and is clearly marked. Refreshments and T-shirts (limited sizes and quantities) will be available for purchase at each staging area. T-shirts can be reserved ahead of time (through 10/4) to guarantee your size, with payment due at pickup (cash or check only). Donations can be made online or in person.
